Daniela Stief Ceramicist

All my work is hand built as individual pieces. I make lots of different cane tops, hanging bird sculptures, pictures, bowls, plates and tiles, vases, planters and lots more. I enjoy the making of objects, but also the surface decoration, texturing the surface with different tools or using sgraffito technique. I experiment with different patterns and the way coloured slips, oxides and glazes are showing up in the patterns. My figurative work is stylised and quite quirky. I like to see how the twist of a head on a bird, for example, changes the whole expression. I like to use leaves and seed heads from my garden.

WORKSHOPS coming up!

On 8th November I will be giving 2 workshops as part of Eddington Arts at the Storey's Field Centre.

On 9th November I will be giving 3 workshops at Haddenham Arts Centre in Haddenham.
