All my work is hand built as individual pieces. I make hanging bird sculptures, pictures, bowls, plates and tiles and lots more. Currently, I most enjoy making vases, decorating them with slip and scratching through in a scraffito technique. I experiment with different patterns and the way coloured slips, oxides and glazes are showing up in the patterns.
My figurative work is stylised and quite quirky. I like to see how the twist of a head on a bird, for example, changes the whole expression.
I have my own kiln in which I fire my pieces to 1250 degrees. This means they are frost- and dishwater- proof.
